All material published by Springer Publishing Company, Inc. is protected by the U.S. Copyright Act. The translation and production of books copyrighted by Springer Publishing Company requires an official Agreement signed by the proposing publisher and countersigned by Springer Publishing Company.

 

This Agreement will establish the terms on which translation rights are granted, and will stipulate royalty percentage, payment of an Advance against the royalties, an annual statement of sales, and payment of royalties accrued. The amount of the advance is determined by the import and content of the selected title as well as the selling price of the translated edition.

 

To request translation rights:

 

• Query Springer Publishing Company regarding availability of specific foreign language rights for desired title email your request to aimperati@springerpub.com
• If the title is not on option to another publisher of that language, the requestor will be sent a reading copy of the book. An option of 2-3 months is granted for evaluating the title's suitability for the requestor's list.
• If a publisher decides to translate and distribute a Springer Publishing Company book, it should submit a request with an offer of terms.Please include the royalty percentage of sales with the amount of advance against this royalty you expect.
• When the terms are agreed, Springer Publishing Company will prepare an official Agreement stating these terms, and send it in duplicate to the publisher for signing.
• The publisher will sign both copies of the Agreement, and return them with a check for the agreed advance, free of bank charges or tax, in U.S. dollars, check on a bank with a U.S. address.
• If the option expires, and no proposal for acquiring the rights or for extending the option has been submitted, Springer Publishing Company may offer the book to another publisher.
